Again to be effective in writing we must know what is the purpose for the writing, mostly who the audience is to properly set the tone for the writing. Depending upon the needs of your writing you would use different styles tailored for the audience for whom you are trying to reach mails may be of a more relaxed atmosphere while the quarterly reports will be of a more serious tone, clear and precise. I cannot say it enough the most effective tools for good writing are purpose of the writing and knowing your audience to tailor your writing to meet the audience’s needs will make your writing more effective.

Memo
To: Kohl’s Associates
From: Public Relations Manager
Date: 09/22/2012
Re: Changes in the store hrs.

Due to the tough economic times that we are experiencing along with the constant rise of fuel costs, Kohl’s retail stores must make some adjustments in order to continue to deliver top quality goods at our usual reasonable rates, with great customer service.
As of October 1st 2012, Kohl’s will be changing our store working hours of operation. Kohl’s will no longer be open for business on Sundays and the weekly hours will also be reduced. Monday through Saturday the Kohl’s store will open one hour later and close one hour earlier. Along with the store hours changing employee shifts will also be changed from five eight hour shifts to four ten hour shifts for full time employees, part time employees will work at the most three days, ten hour shifts.
Kohl’s is making these changes to allow us the opportunity to remain open in these tough economic times as they exist today at the same time allowing all of our employees to remain employed during these hard times. Kohl’s is grateful for all of the hard work and devotion of all
