God created mankind in his image and since He is involved in our everyday lives and decision we make, that should be enough foundational belief for any Christian that believes in him. In this biblical worldview essay, I plan to explain how this belief will have a great impact on my career as a psychologist and how it will affect my everyday life once I start my career and the people I will help in the near future. As a Counselor/Psychologist, It is very important to be trustworthy and for people to be able to confide in me and expect me to keep anything we discuss between the client and I. I plan on having my own practice in the future and clients will expect me to be professional and trust my judgment with anything I deliver to them especially when it’s a client that is seeking the help versus someone who is recommended to me by some of my peers. One of my favorite versus Proverbs 3:5 (KJV), Trust in the lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. As the passage is stating trust God and do not lean towards your own understanding of that, so in my profession I would be asking my clients to trust in the knowledge I am given them and not what they think of their own understanding. As a man being made in God’s image it is expected of me to represent him in his entirety and fulfill any and all of my client’s needs as it pertains to their emotional wellbeing. There will also be times in my career where religion cannot be used in helping any of my clients resolve their issues. In this field caring and love is one of the most important characteristics to carry in this field.
