Working in a team
The purpose of this assignment is to identify what team work is. A team work came to be defined as:

It is important to outline key issues and conceptions involved in team work like communication, team role, coordination and team structure. The big factor of effectively team working is communication. Belbin shows if members of team are not communicating and working together, this can lead to number of problems and mistakes.

Communication is the mutual understanding and transfer of information. To ensure an efficient and effective communication, there are three considerations:
* you must make your message understood
* you must receive/understand the intended message sent to you
* you should exert some control over the flow of the communication
Information passed to colleagues and clients or other way around should be accurate and clear so both sides can easily understand it. If I will misunderstand or receive incorrect information from the client this may lead to overpayments or underpayment for employees. In the past we could speak with our manager face to face on regular basis and discus all issues either with the clients or regarding our work. After ICS Computing was acquired by Equiniti group there is no evidence of any clear communication to explain to people the new methods of working and why the organisation is going in that direction. We can contact our Supervisor and we have to wait for feedback which can take much longer than before. Employees feel unvalued and ignored at some occasions.
When I have started working for ICS Computing I was full of enthusiasm, waiting for opportunity to develop my skills and gain experience in new environment. For my first months I was pushing my management to get more involved in payroll processes, take some more responsibility on more complicated duties not just easy tasks. I was trying but on this stage communication between me and the management wasn’t good enough and I have to wait over six months to get some more training and duties. After all they gave me ownership of five payrolls and I wasn’t confident enough to process them because of no training have been arranged at this time. I believe if communication between us were better I could do the job in much better way without any doubts.
If management in our company could use this process they would be able to improve our communication way within the organisation. Good communication is the key of delivering excellent service and gives a clear understanding of what was required and expected of everyone leaving staff feeling valued.
