Energy Resource Plan
Energy conservation is the idea of reducing and preserving the natural resources while limiting the amount of waste that is put back into the environment caused by human consumption of energy. There are multiple items that are of importance to energy conservation. The most important part is to the preserve the natural environment. Protecting and preserving the environment will allow the environment to grow and thrive so that future generation can enjoy and have the same resources today. Protecting and preserving also is meant to keep pollutants and toxins to a limit, either through reduction of elimination. Energy conservation can help not only the environment, but can be beneficial to maintaining good health. Economically, conserving energy can help lower a person’s ecological footprint and help same them money.
Energy is often referred to as a source of power, regardless ...view middle of the document...
Some of the most common sources of non-renewable resources are coal, oil, and trees (EIA 2008).
Energy conservation will require the entire community to make sacrifices and become proactive to take the steps necessary to conserve energy and protect the environment. There are many steps that can help a person individually to help achieve the conservations necessary. Transportation is a large contributor of pollution to the environment. Individually a person can make better decision when it comes to transportation that can help reduce his or her ecological footprint. Besides transportation, communities should organize community gardens to grow fruits and vegetables. Conserving water by watering the lawn less and choosing when to water the lawn, which will be most effective for the grass without the water evaporating. Conserving electricity inside the home by unplugging non-critical equipment and turning off lights or replacing the lights to more energy efficient bulbs to reduce the usage. Some of the steps to conserving energy may be difficult to achieve, however most are simple changes that each individual can change to reduce and conserve energy.
Under President Obama, the US Government has multiple laws and strategies to help protect and conserve energy. The administration has included legislation for more energy that is clean such as solar, wind, and hydrothermal power. The administration has also continued with the funding of the National Park Service as well as the Fish and Wildlife Services (Whitehouse 2009).
Energy conservation is the responsible of everyone. Each state, city, town, and community must have a role in reducing the amount of energy used. With the efforts of everyone and the continue lobbying for changes, together we can all reduce and conserve energy so that future generations can enjoy the resources we have today!
