The Role of Project Managers
Project management discipline is how things are setup for planning, organizing, motivating, and controlling what is around you to achieve a goal set forth. Many projects are defined with a beginning and end that is sometimes held up by time- constrained along with constrained by funding as well as deliverables. Meeting these goals and objectives usually bring about change that are beneficial values. How the nature of the project stands up to business operations that are repetitive, permanent activities which produce products ...view middle of the document...
Communication by the team and the project manager is vital to the success of the project. Staying within budget can also be a challenge if there are changes happening to the original project scope. A project manager occasionally has to make some difficult decisions when it comes to a turning point decision for the project.
Ways in which project management differs across industries depends on the business operations. Some businesses operation twenty-four hours and make it difficult to run a project when there is no down time to the business. Another obstacle or challenge could be the deliverables. If an organization needs specific material for the project and there is a hold up of material, the deliverables will suffer because of the materials. For instance, in the construction business, if the HVAC union is on strike and the carpenter would not be able to complete his task. Whereas in the health industry, the HVAC strike would not affect a project manager’s project of a process improvement. Different industries have different challenges in project management.
