INTRODUCTION
Walter Elias "Walt" Disney (December 5, 1901 – December 15, 1966) was an American business magnate, animator, producer, director, screenwriter, and voice actor. A major figure within the American animation ...view middle of the document...

He died on December 15, 1966 from lung cancer in Burbank, California. A year later, construction of the Walt Disney World Resort began in Florida. His brother Roy Disney inaugurated the Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971.

IMPORTANT EVENTS

1901 Born in Chicago, Illinois.
1909 He moved with his family to Kansas City.
1911 Studied drawing at the Art Institute of Kansas City.
1918 Move to Europe and take part in World War I as an ambulance driver for the Red Cross.
1919 Returns to Kansas City. He works in an advertising agency, which meets Ubbe Iwerks .
1921 Together with Iwerks , produced his first animated films and founded the company Laugh- O- Gram Films.
1923 After the failure of the company, up to Hollywood. Create with his brother Roy Disney Brothers studio, which was incorporated a year later Ubbe Iwerks .
1925 He marry Lillian Bounds.
1926 The study is renamed Walt Disney Studio.
1927 Creates the Oswald character, starring a cute bunny a series of short films.
1928 Had a lot of success with the Mickey Mouse character in the movie Willie Mouse in Steamboat.
1929 Begins to profit from the marketing of products with the image of Mickey Mouse.
1930 Publication of the first book of drawings of Mickey Mouse.
1932 Starts Silly Symphonies series, in technicolor .
1934 Creates the character Donald Duck.
1937 Produces the first animated feature film history: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs .
1940 Produces Pinocchio and the innovative Fancy. Finish the construction of their new studio in Burbank. Start working with the FBI as an informant anticommunist.
1941 A strike caused by low wages paralyzes his studies for a year.
1943 Combine first cartoons and real actors in Greetings, friends.
1947 Collaborates openly in the "witch hunt " Un-American Activities Committee .
1948 Starts production of documentary short series of real-life adventures.
1954 begins producing cartoons for television.
1955 Opens the Disneyland amusement park in Anaheim, California.
1964 Produces Mary Poppins , live-action feature debut .
1966 Dies in Los Angeles, California

I think Walt Disney was a very important part of my childhood, and  not only mine. Is a man who through his cartoons he transmitted the most beautiful illusions in his characters, as all these characters show faith, hope, friendship, love, courage and all his movies always leave you a message to see.
