Finally it is this induction for the successful candidate selected for the job and this is the process where they prepare him/her for the job.
P2: Most employers will be more interested in your ability to work with people and in your positive attitude than your formal qualifications. However, you will need to have a reasonable standard of maths as you will be handling cash and checking stock.
To be a good sales assistant it’s important that you’re able to work as part of a team and that you’re helpful, friendly and polite. You also need to reliable, honest and responsible.
The skills Asda look for are:
serving and advising customers
helping customers to find the goods they want
advising on stock amounts
giving information on products and prices
stacking shelves or displaying goods in an attractive way
arranging window displays
promoting special offers or store cards
handling complaints or passing them on to a manager
Alongside these skills, that are preferred to have for the job, they also look for personal and communication skills. Interpersonal skills are the skills we use to interact with other people. Good interpersonal skills allow you to participate effectively as a member of a team, satisfy customers and clients' expectations, negotiate, make decisions, manage your time efficiently, take responsibility, and work effectively with other employees. Well-honed interpersonal skills allow us to empathise and build rapport with colleagues and clients, leading to a better working environment which can be less stressful. If you are either applying for a job or looking for a promotion with your current employer, you will need to demonstrate good communication skills. The ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with a wide variety of people, maintain good eye contact, write clearly and succinctly, demonstrate a varied vocabulary and tailor your language to your audience are all essential skills that employers seek out. Good verbal and written communication means you can get your messages across with less chance of misunderstanding.

What Asda will have to check is if they have the right qualifications for the job, this is necessary because Asda can’t employ someone if they don’t have the basic GCSE’s such as Maths and English because if...
