Training and education is vital in healthcare. Many patient when ill are scared and our roles as a healthcare professionals is their to help ease that burden. Also help them to make decisions that would be in their best interest. Training and education is key to keep staff up- to- date and safe. Also training and education enhances knowledge, skills, attitudes, and judgment. With the right training and education healthcare staff can communicate with patients they serve.
Organization many times train their employees to take on extra responsibilities or to improve their skills (eHow, 2012). Training can include a guest from another organization or videos, depending on the size of the group that has to be train. Assessment an employee before and after training can show just how much the employee learned. Just because training is over supervisors must continue to make sure employees benefits from the training.
All organization want a workforce that is competitive and retain high performance. If an organization is not performing according to the goals set out by the organization they can look forward to and unsuccessful organization. The importance of measuring competencies is to make sure the employee can provide quality services. Competency evaluation is important in the process of developing an employee's career development plan. One of the most important parts of performance management is coaching employees to develop the skills that may be holding them back from being successful or moving up in the organization. There are many reasons for measuring competencies in healthcare.
