Total Quality Pioneers
This paper will give the definition of quality and define its elements. We will also define the total quality of elements that made the pioneer successful. We will also explain how the elements of quality one used in today’s business environment as well as for future endeavors.
Define Quality and its Elements
According to the text “Quality is a dynamic state associated with products, services, people, processes, and environments that meets or exceeds expectations and helps produce superior value” (Goetsch, Davis, 2010). The strategic base element states that an organization must have vision, a defined mission and broad objectives as well as activities to be completed to achieve those broad objectives (Goetsch, Davis, 2010). For an organization to be a consumer based organization it must focus in on its customers internally as well as externally. Organizations obsessed with quality can be considered to be obsessed with customer satisfaction. The scientific approach relates to organizations solving its problems by making decisions that relate to work (Goetsch, Davis, 2010). Long-term commitment allows organizations to look at the organizations plan to remain successful for the long term period. Teamwork enables individuals to work together to accomplish a common goal such as improving the quality and or service for the organization. Continual process improvement for an organization is defined as continuously working to improve the organizations systems. Education and training enables individuals working for the organization to improve their knowledge and capabilities to ensure quality products and or services are always improved upon. It also allows these educated and trained individuals the ability to solve problems on their own or without supervision. Unity of purpose allows employees within the organization to unite together in and toward a common goal. Employee involvement enables employees to voice and address various issues that affect them. It also allows them to contribute ideas to improve their stations. To have a high quality engaged organization employees must be empowered and engaged. Employees need to feel they play an important role in the success of an organization. This will increase employees’ willingness to improve their quality of work.
