In the twenty first century the Muslim world is passing through a very challenging and crucial situation. We will face countless problems in the near future and we have to fight for our survival. A very small portion of the national budget is allocated to education. The Muslim world spends less than 4% of their GDP on education. OIC countries are home to some 650 universities. Japan in comparison has more than 1000 universities Tokyo alone has 120 universities. The Muslim world spend only 0.5% on R&D while the non Muslim world spend 5% on R&D.

Economy trade and industry
The Muslim world is well rich in economic resources playing a vital in world economy. It has 70% of world oil resources and nearly 50% of world natural resources. The Muslim world occupies 45% of world agricultural land and has a well developed river system to irrigate it. Average per capita income in the European countries is 24000 dollarsThe figure of the Muslim countries is bellow 10000 dollars. Despite of these statistics it is very unfortunate that the Muslim world represent only 5% of world GNP. The share of Muslim world in global revenue is only a meager 7.5%.The other aspect of demographic profile of the Muslim world like employment Health etc also shows a grim picture.
Problems of the Muslim world in 21st centaury
Today the whole world is facing anarchy and is full of disturbances. Being part of the world Muslim ummah faces the same situation rather it would not be wrong to say that the Muslim world faces greater problems and difficulties than the rest of the world. One of the basic reasons of all the problems of Muslim ummah is associating Islam and musalman with those people who want disturb peace of the world and spread anarchy. The problems of Muslims are not only because of these baseless blames but also because of internal weakness which has brought the whole ummah on the brink of collapse.
Identity of Muslim ummah
It is a common perception that Islam is a religion of terror brutality and violence and that every Muslim is terrorist. The identity of Muslim ummah has been made doubtful but the fact is that Islam is a religion of peace and protection. Is this the history Muslim that terrorism has become his identity? No this is not the case. This is all because of internal weakness of Muslims. They have preferred this world at the cost of Islam teaching. Islam declares the whole of the Muslims as one and single ummah and not nations. Every person is part of Muslim ummah who has a living belief in God and Holy prophet (PBUH).The problem of Muslim ummah is that it has become nation’s ad not milt. From here we started losing our identity and it reached its peak when we lost our fundamentals the holy Quran and sunnah. It is a basic principle whoever loses his basic belief he is unable to sustain his identity. The Muslims if want to regain their identity they will have to resort to their fundamentals.
