On Earth today, stewardship is demonstrated in many situations. Each and every human being performs daily acts that express their responsibility to be a good steward for the sake of God. Some people do not recognize their duty to try to do good in the world, so they blindly go through life with out the joy and satisfaction of assisting others. If you're looking to better yourself and follow Gods plan of having us as stewards of one of his most precious creations follow these two crucial morals: be selfless and always do the right thing at the right time, no matter who's watching (this just happens to be the motto of “The Chaminade Man”).
Selflessness while being a hard concept for many to grasp, is a major key to being a successful steward. To be ...view middle of the document...
Jesus Christ is the full embodiment of being selfless. He did for others what he wished (but did not expect) to be done to him.
Doing the right thing at the right time is the cornerstone of Chaminade’s morals. The school teaches its students to be selfless and be good stewards without even having to say that point exactly. Doing the right thing at the right time, no matter who's watching is another is the way to be the perfect steward, doing right even if it is by no means convenient for you at a certain time. A great example is the following scenario: You're on track for being late to school, but while crossing Jericho Turnpike you see an older lady having some difficulty crossing, the right thing to do is to go and help the woman and suffer the potential consequences rather than leave her be and she possibly fall. Now possibly, in the best case scenario, you explain to her your dilemma and she may possibly in return go with you into the building and explain what happened, now instead of being in trouble you may get commended for your actions. The Chaminade Man is the perfect image not just for Chaminade High School students, but for every person searching to better themselves through the help of those around them.
The simple yet complex idea of becoming a selfless member of society is tough to encompass at first but if you really try you will persevere and become a steward of God. If you do not succeed at first do not fret, acknowledging that you may have failed will only help you recognize future situations and approach them appropriately. Stewardship is a role in which we are all called to, but only a select few will answer that call proposed by God. Only the test of time will show who you will be.
