Part One: What is a worldview?
The term worldview is defined as the way in which an individual defines and views the world around them including the way they interact with someone, and the decisions that they choose to make in the future. Furthermore a person’s worldview is how they choose to filter their personal experiences.
Part Two: Articulate the biblical/Christian worldview
There are many theories in regards to the Origin of the World. The biblical worldview is that God is both the creator and the cause of life. The bible is very specific in its regards to the explanation of Origin, stating that God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1, HCSB) as well as explaining that God also created mankind from the depths of the earth, and planned out our ...view middle of the document...
The bible also defines the meaning of life in regards to others stating that God comforts us, that we might show comfort to others (2 Corinthians 1:4, HSCB). While the Golden Rule is a standard for most of humanity, the biblical worldview tells us that our ethical code is based on the Holy Standard of God. As God reveals his nature to us, we are commanded to imitate his example (John 13:34, HSCB). This Holy Standard speaks not only to our actions but also our thoughts in that our thoughts should be right, and pleasing to God (Philippians 4:8, HSCB). Although each and every one the preceding topics has sparked both debate and disagreement, the question of what happens to life after death, has sparked the most debate. The bible is clear that there is a place for the righteous as well as the unrighteous. Romans 6:23, makes a clear distinction between eternal life and death. And this very promise of a place in the Kingdom of God, is given by the Son of God, for those who believe in faith (Luke 23:42-43).
Part Three: How might/should a biblical worldview influence the way you…
The worldview that someone holds affects the very decisions they make, it also influences the way that they think about and treat others on a daily basis. My biblical worldview reminds me that as Christ forgave me for the choices and decisions that I have made, I am influenced to treat people as I have been treated by God. Loving the God that exist within them. And while the biblical worldview affects how I treat others, it has also influenced my career choices. The biblical worldview commands us to follow Christ, to submit ourselves to Christ and to one another. And according to this worldview I have continually tried to chose those plans that will allow me to share my God with others.
