Introduction:
Heidelberg Cement Bangladesh Ltd is one of the largest producers of quality cement in Bangladesh. It is a member of the Heidelberg cement group, Germany. In Bangladesh it represents two reputed brands, Ruby Cement and Scan Cement. Heidelberg established it's presence in Bangladesh in 1998 by setting up a floating terminal with onboard packing facilities in the port of Chittagong and by distributing cement to the key markets of Dhaka and Chittagong. In 1999, Heidelberg built a Greenfield manufacturing plant near Dhaka namely, Scan Cement International Limited with an installed capacity of 0.750 million tons per year.
