Develop New Talent Strategy: This strategy is more so targeted towards the managers so that they can be self sufficient and highly productive.
2. Hire or Outsource
These can be a tough scenario because outsources isn’t highly favored in any organization. There are numerous cons in the initial phases because of lack of training, company knowledge, and manpower to train them the Tanglewood way. However, if you did outsource you can practice new ideas and techniques on the outsourcing employees because they don’t show resentment towards the originally processes.
3. External or Internal Hiring
I believe that internal hiring would be good if you are filling a position of upper management. This would be greatly effective because of the prior company knowledge and experience. If you are hiring for entry level positions, then you could hire externally and train the employees in the way you want them to grow within the organization.
4. Core or Flexible Workforce
Tanglewood is founded on a “team mentality” philosophy. Therefore, it could focus on core workforce and be successful. If the workforce was flexible it would be hard to maintain that “team mentality” between company and employee. Therefore, your staff should be either full or part time employees that work all year long.
5. Hire or Retain
Tanglewood would greatly benefit from retaining their employees instead of hiring new ones. The existing employees can be trained in their skill sets and talents to be more successful within the company. If Tanglewood stayed consistent with the team mentally between company and employee, then turnover rates would be nonexistent.
6. National or Global
Tanglewood has similar products like the other chain stores such as clothing, electronics, and appliances. Therefore, it should focus on global marketing with talented individuals that specialize in that field. However, they need to make sure to hire enough employees to smoothly coordinate global marketing and selling. By exceeding in the global market, Tanglewood will reach yet another successful tier in the retail chain world.
7. Attract or Relocate
Tanglewood needs to make sure the different regional managers know how to coordinate the human resources between the twenty stores. Tanglewood has a big market with over 12 regions and about 20 stores per region. Regional managers’ need consistent and continuous training to make sure they are always update with policies and company procedures. Additionally, Tanglewood can attract new talent by the high educational requirements upon applying with the...
