The structural elements are process improvement teams, the seven CQI tools, parallel organization, organizational leadership, statistical analysis, customer satisfaction measures, benchmarking, and redesign of process from scratch. Structural elements are used to help with organizing and supporting the efforts to help an organization improve on a continuous basis. Process improvement teams are put in place to deal with known problematic areas aggressively. The seven CQIU tools are “flowcharts, cause-and-effect diagrams, histograms, Pareto charts, run charts, control charts, and regression analyses,” (McLaughlin & Kaluzny, 2006). Without successful and competent leadership a company is destined to fail. Statistical analysis is used to monitor a company’s processes and how effective may or may not be. Redesigns of processes from scratch involves ensuring that the end result is satisfactory for clients, meets all quality requirements, and are up to standard. In cases where these standards are not met a solution must be found and implemented. These elements are useful in the healthcare setting because these internal perspectives help improve...
