SWOT Analysis

Strengths

These must be based on the internal strengths and JUSTIFIED in relation to the market research
Grade: 1
|The school has been awarded multiple grade: 1’s which shows it is at the top of its league, the best at what it does. The ...view middle of the document...

The school got this statement because when the government funds the school they get a lot for|
their money, the school is using the money efficiently and the government is getting a high standard of education for it. For
example for every £5000 the school will put 30 students through a day of lessons, but another school will put 20 student through a
week of lesson, that is just a made up example but you see the point I am making.
Weaknesses
These must be based on the internal weaknesses and JUSTIFIED in relation to the market research
Grade:2
The school received two Grade: 2’s, but these were in achievements and standards, and quality of provision. The achievements would
be on the grades in GCSE’s and A-levels, the reason we might have only got Grade: 2 is because if the average GCSE score, when
someone applies for this school there is no entry exam you can’t be rejected because of your past results, other private schools
only allow the smart kids, but we allow everyone. So when we are marked on GCSE results the average might be 5 A-C’s, but in
private schools it might be 5 A*-B’s which means that they will receive the Grade:1 and not us. Also the report may be talking
about the subjects that the school offers, the school might not be able to facilitate the needs of a specific subject that other
schools can.
Risen slowly
The rate of the school achieving passes has risen slowly, the school has put all its attention of achieving a pass for every
student, but still it only rises slowly. The rate can’t just magically get a pass for everyone, but the school can work harder each
year. The only way the school could concentrate harder on getting that pass would be to drop the gifted and talented program to
give more attention on the under achievers.
Ability
At the end of effectiveness of the sixth form it has improving further, one of the points is to “ensure that the work given to
students is matched to their ability”. This shows that either some students are being given work that is too hard, and are unable
|to do it. Or gifted and talented students aren’t getting work that...
