Campuran dari push / pull system di manufaktur assemble to order, di lingkungan ini bahan mentah bisa dijadikan sebagai produk semi-jadi di poin dimana alur operasi di picu oleh permintaan konsumen.
Awal awal produksi dikelola sebagai push-type production, bisa dideskripsikan sebagai sistem renacana dari atas ke bawah karena keputusan kuantitas produksi berasal dari peramalan permintaan di jadwal master produksi. Sistem ini memproduksi ...view middle of the document...


Setelah itu produksi beralih ke ke pull type-production. Pull type production sistem membuat produk sesuai dengan permintaan konsumen. Stasiun di pisah menjadi stasiun untuk konsumen dan supplier setiap konsumen menarik permintaannya dimana produk itu didapatkan maka ini memicu produksi untuk mengisi stasiun yang produknya terjual tadi. Prosedur ini memilah sampai stasiun pertama dimana tempat memilih bahan baku dari penyimpanan bahan baku. Tipe produksi ini dapat mengurangi cost di WIP secara signifikan. Meskipun prosedur ini tidak memungkin di lingkungan dengan permintaan yang besar dan bervariasi, dan memiliki delivery lead time yang panjang.
Di paper ini menginvestigasi sistem campuran antara push dan pull system dalam lingkungan assemble-to-order manufaktur, bahan baku bertransformasi menjadi barang setengah jadi dimana alur berikutnya berdedikasi dengan permintaan konsumen. Sistem campuran ini mencoba mengatasi masalah yang terjadi di push dan pull system strategy yaitu high inventory cost dan delivery leadtime. Dan penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa sistem campuran adalah pilihan terbaik disaat cost rationya kecil sedangkan sistem push menunjukan kinerja lebih baik disaat cost rationya besar.
