Study habit is the regular tendency or practice in studying. It is the one that is somehow hard to give up. Study habits can be good. Some good study habits are: 

1. Setting a particular time and place to do home works, school assignments and projects. 
2. Outlining and rewriting notes. 
3. Studying with friends;
4. Being resourceful.

1.1 Statement of the Problem

This study is made to know the different study habits of the freshmen students of PLM and answer the following questions:

1.) Are the freshmen students of PLM has their own study habits?
2.) How long they practice this? (Since elementary, high school or only this time).
3.) What are the techniques that they use in their study habits?
4.) What are the factors affecting their study habits?
5.) Do they experience any kind of difficulties regarding their study habits?

This study aims to know the different study habits of the freshmen students in PLM. For the next batch of PLMayers and

This study is limited for freshmen Biology students of Pamantasan ng Lugsod ng Maynila only.

1,4 Definition of Terms

Freshmen students – a first-year undergraduate
Habits – an automatic pattern of behaviour in reaction to a specific situation; may be inherited or acquired through frequent repetition
Outlining – describe roughly or briefly or give the main points or summary of
Resourceful – having inner resources; adroit or imaginative
Skills – an ability that has been acquired by training; ability to produce solutions in some problem domain
Students – a learned person (especially in the humanities); someone who by long study has gained mastery in one or more disciplines
Study – a detailed critical inspection; consider in detail and subject to an analysis in order to discover essential features or meaning

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

Every June, millions of parents try a kind of psychological witchcraft, to get their sons and daughters interests back to school from their restful months. Parent used to give their children many kinds of advices like clear a quiet work space; stick to a homework schedule; set goals; set boundaries, do not bribe (except in emergencies) etc. But does students’ learning style match the new teacher’s approach or the school’s philosophy? Maybe the child isn’t “a good fit” for the school.
Such theories have developed in part because of sketchy education research that doesn’t offer clear guidance. Student traits and teaching styles surely interact; so do personalities and at-home rules. The trouble is, no one can predict how.
Yet there are effective approaches to learning, at least for those who are motivated. In recent years, cognitive scientists have shown that a few simple techniques can reliably improve what matters most: how much a student learns from studying.
