Effects of stress on students in college

Many students face stress as they try to mix up busy lives, school, and work; while they are trying also to have time with family and friend. For some student, stress becomes almost a way of living. However, it is really dangerous to let stress become student’s way of living in college, because some stress levels can lead to a terrible effect that changes completely student’s life and it may result to a fail. Mind and body are inextricably linked and the interaction between them can produce physical changes. Headaches and fatigue are often directly caused by the bodily responses that accompany stress. A frequent headache is among students reasons of missing class and doing poorly on the test. Fatigue, weariness from labor or stress, may consequently leads to uncompleted homework or tasks; and unable to retain teacher’s comments. It is very hard for a student to cover the grade of failing on a test. Because of missing too many classes and tests, the student will drop these classes or dropout of college. For academic disqualification reason, 28% of students are dropping out of college; and 3 % for the reason of mental or emotional issues. Many students don’t find school interesting, if they are about to fail.
Misconduct is another common effect of higher level of stress. Student’s misconduct refers to a behavior not conforming to prevailing standards or laws in college; impropriety. When the mind is affected by stress, the student is not anymore the master of his body. He will easily lead to cheating, sexual misconduct and manipulating others. Because student won’t be able to read and complete his homework, he will be exposed to cheating to make up his grade. Statistic shows that 75 to 98 percent of college students have cheated in their academic careers....
