Pointless Art or Meaningful Symbols?
Hipsters, rockers, goths, hippies and other similar modern trends all have one thing in common: tattoos. This obviously doesn’t mean that everyone who are dressed in the code of these trends have tattoos on them but most adults do. Now, many individuals, when they hear “tattooed people” might imagine a person with tattoo’s instead of sleeves but that’s going from one level of extreme to another. Tats can vary in different sizes; from small to big and from single tats to connecting them all together into an enormous one.
Tattoos represent so many different things that it’s impossible to mention every single meaning. Some of the things that tattoos stand for are family, friends, unforgettable memories, meaningful ...view middle of the document...
Yes, our body and our life is a wonderful gift that we should treasure but why should others care about what we decide to decorate it with? Tattoo’s should not give a bad first impression to anyone, it should only tell a little about their personality.
Speaking of judgmental twits, no matter how famous a celebrity with tats is, there will always be someone who will criticize them for their own choice of life. The majority of new alternative rock/ heavy metal bands have members that are covered in tat’s from head to toe and of course they get pointed at and called stupid, goths or rocker wannabes. Some of the “tattoo covered” bands are Motionless in White, Bring Me The Horizon, Pierce The Veil or Of Mice & Men. All these bands are dissed by so many popular singers or celebrities mainly for their tattoos instead of sleeves which are thought to be stupid and pointless pictures but not everyone thinks that. Some people actually realize that this type of body art represents something or is a meaningful symbol.
Clearly, not all tattooed people are being criticized! There are many idols who have ink on their skin and they are mainly adored by so many people! Take David Beckham as an example! He is a professional football player with many teenager fans who look up to him no matter how many tattoos he has. Lots of fangirls all over the world look up to boybands such as: One Direction, Janoskians, The Wanted and so on. Nearly all members of these kinds of bands have tats all over their skin and are not being judged for it by their fan-base of course! Sadly, there will always be people who hate on even these people… So is it pointless art or meaningful symbols?
