Sponsorship is the act of providing support to an organization, a person or a club in relation to finances or equipment that would assist the particular party in executing its tasks effectively. Sports organizations are a good example of parties that require sponsorship. This is where the aspect of commercial sponsorship of sports comes into play. It basically implies to the way sponsors provide financial aid to these sporting organizations. Many countries rely on sport as a way of boosting their economic status. This acts as a great benefit to the countries in that it accelerates the in-flow of tourists from other nations. A good example of this is the stadium built in Melbourne Dubai. This stadium has led to an increase in the number of tourists flowing into the country to watch sports. The stadium was as a result of commercial sponsorship and the outcome has been great. The country’s economic status has increased massively and this can be attributed to the tourist increase especially when attending the matches held at the stadium.
Some members of the society are financially disadvantaged; some of these members have great talent in sports. However, these people are unable to pursue their dreams as a result of the financial constraints. This setback has been eliminated by the commercial sponsorship of sports. Commercial sponsorship in sport has become an important move that has seen the talents possessed by young people in sports being fully exploited (Scott, 2010). These people have benefited from the act in a variety of ways.
