They also tend to suffer more from “positive” symptoms such as hallucination
and delusion. People with type ll or usually called negative schizophrenia are adjusted very
badly before their mental disorder slowly over takes them. They have a lot of negative
symptoms such as slowing of physical and mental reactions.
There are five different sub types of schizophrenia. Paranoid schizophrenia is combination
of false delusions, and auditory hallucinations. The delusions of paranoid schizophrenics most
of the time involve thought of others putting pressure on them making them do something and
being harmed by others, or exaggerated opinions of themselves by others. Paranoid
schizophrenic react at the highest level than any other subtypes of schizophrenia, they are also
have higher percentage of committing a suicidal or have violent behavior depending on how
strong they are affected by their hallucination. Disorganized schizophrenic is having more
troubles with disorganized speech, thinking, and behavior. Person who falls in this sub type of
the disorder is coupled with flat or inappropriate emotional responses to a situation. They
might act silly or extremely nonordenary according to the situation. Most of the patients in this
category have very weak personality that can be manipulated.
People who diagnosed with catatonic subtype of schizophrenia have bigger impact on
movement, that includes rigidity, stupor, agitation, bazar posturing, and repetitive movements
of body parts or speech of others. Patients that are under this category have a high chance of
self-injury. Such subtype of this category is not very common in patients in United States or
Europe. Catatonia as a symptom is most of the time associated with mood disorders. Another
subtype of schizophrenia is undifferentiated. Patients of this category have both symptoms
positive and negative. But they don’t have specific disorganized and paranoid or catatonic
subtype. Residual is another category of schizophrenia. Patients who are under this subtype of
mental disorder usually don’t have strong positive symptoms. Such as hallucination or delusion.
They might have negative symptoms such as withdrawal from others. Which means that the
disorder has not completely resolved.
