Commercial banks are in the business of providing banking services to individuals, small businesses and large organizations. Today's commercial banks are more diverse than ever. The goal of this essay is to clarify is there any significant changes for the institutional structure of the Russian banking system during last 5 year, make comparison between Commercial banks VTB24 (Russia),Barclays  (England) and Goldman Sachs (USA)to understand the progress of developing Russian commercial banks.

Corporate and individual customers play by far the most important role with 53%. Bank loans play a much smaller role with 14%.
We do not expect any serious disturbances in the Russian banking sector in 2013. Lending will grow both in the banking and corporate sectors, though possibly at not such high pace as in 2012. In our opinion, the exceeding pace of growth of retail lending over corporate lending will continue.

Goldman Sachs Group had $846 Billion in average total liabilities and $77.6 Billion in average shareholders' equity.
