However, it is said that condoms do not necessarily prevent HPV infections. Women who have had five or more sexual partners are at a higher risk. Smoking is another risk it may double the risk of cervical cancer. In fact, studies suggest that nearly fifty percent of women diagnosed with cervical cancer smoke. This is caused by the chemical produce by tobacco smoke, it can damage the DNA of cervical cells. Diet and drug use can also have a negative risk. Diets that are low in fruits and vegetables increase the risk of cervical cancer. According to the Mayo Clinic, about thirty percent of cancers are related to issues of nutrition, including obesity. Women also have an increased risk if their mothers took Diethylstilbestrol(DES) while they were pregnant. DES back between 1940 and 1971 this drug was given to women to prevent miscarriages. Getting a screening done is not a diagnostic tool it is a a tool that is very efficient at detecting cervical abnormalities. If you also increase the amount of Vitamin D can be beneficial as well. By maintaining healthy cell it can try to prevent out of control cell reproduction and hindering the formation of new blood vessels.
