In Suki’s writing her tones variety from having an altitude of sadness, frustration, and confusion.

Describe your emotional response to the essay.

I have to say that I really enjoyed reading the essay entitled, “Facing poverty with a rich girl’s habit.” It was as if you could imagine what Suki was going through and you could picture it happening as she was telling her story. Party of me felt sad for her because she had to become adjusted to a life that she never knew. But at the same time she survived it all and because of being able to experience life from both perspectives I believe she can appreciate more the struggle of people who continues to live in poverty. It is my belief that she learned how to be humble and she learned some values that she probable would not have learned as a rich kid living in Korea. As a rich kid in Korea she was use to everyone doing everything for her so she felt as if she was entitled. But when all of that was taken away she now appreciate the struggle. And I think if she was to become rich again she would be more appreciative.
