Responding to the Spirit
John 16: 13-16
13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you. 16 “A little while, and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me, because I go to the Father.”

Paul was praying for the church to look to the Father of glory whom is Christ. He was praying for their eyes to be enlightened, for the words of God to be illuminated, for the words in the bible to light up and have an understanding of the gospel through the Holy Spirit. Just as Paul was praying for these believes we should be praying this also, because this is something that isn’t automatic. David writes in Psalms 119: 18 Open my eyes, that I may see Wondrous things from Your law. We need more luster and more comprehension for the word of God, and that want can only come from the Spirit of God.
Jesus Christ is the word of God in John the 14th chapter he says “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me, and when the prescience of the Lord is with you there is no more pain, sorrow, or suffering only joy, peace, and happiness is what I feel now and I can truly say my soul is content knowing that Christ lives in me.
1 Thessalonians 5
19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies.
We are not to grieve the Holy Spirit and we are not to quench the Spirit. That is the true reverence for God, his mission to us is to look to the son because this is the only way to him, but one can’t look to the son without the Spirit to help guild them into one harmonies truth.
