Develop an awareness of external influences on teaching and learning

The main points I have learnt from this session / assessment are:
The value of individual learning plans –
ï‚· There should be ownership and shared responsibility between the learner and teacher/tutor
ï‚· ILPs are often linked to a course which receives Government funding
ï‚· In certain circumstances may be more useful than a scheme of work or lesson plan
ï‚· The value and importance on my learning in developing my personal learning plan to assist in helping me to focus on my short term goal and longer term aims
To introduce students to the legislation and codes of practice which are relevant to the learning environment –

I will also think about how I ensure my style and content of what I do is fair and equitable, inclusive to all students
ï‚· I need to think about my delivery in the learning environment - language, tone and non verbal behaviours, listening skills etc
 I n keeping a reflective journal this will help me to develop my reflective practice and to think through and analyse what I have done – to think about what has happened and if I should have done things differently
How I could develop my knowledge and understanding as a result of this session / assessment:
To review and research techniques and approaches to improve giving feedback
To read up on the various Acts in place which are relevant to learning and the learning environment – and to research sources to help if I am unsure or there is an aspect I need advice/support on.
To study further reflective practice – research academic writings on this area (eg Schon)
