Reflection Essay- final draft
Writing has not always been my strongest subject in school; in fact it has always been my weakest just because I had always struggled with grammar, spelling, sentence structure, etc. I have always end up with bad grades in whatever writing classes I took. But as the semester is coming to an end I can honestly say I have learned and improved on a lot as both a writer and a student. We work on this in class and had lots of homework in the book when we did our gamma help unit it was hard and confusing at first but the more I work on it the easier it got. It was the skill I had the most struggled with and had to pay closer attention to than most. But in the end I was able to do it and it showed very well when I took my quizzes I never got a failing grade.
Another skill I learned and still have lots more to improve on is reading and study of professional essay I mostly demonstrated this skill when we did our summary unit. For examples I had to read twelve different essays and pick one to write a one page summary essay about. Each essay had a different tone, and purpose. I had to learn how to identify the tone and purpose of each essay. I also had to learn how to shorten a long essay by summarizing it. At the start of the semester I had a hard time summarizing mostly because I really didn’t know the difference between paraphrasing and summarizing. Another example of how I learn to read and study professional essay was when I wrote my summary essay on “Hidden Intellectualisms” article written by Gerald Graff. I spent days working on this essay trying to get it right I used direct quote from the article to make up my point of view and my grade from this paper showed me I did really well.
The fourth skill I learned and improved on this semester is my improving abilities as a developing writing by attending class regularly, prepared and on time, participating actively. This...
