Issues in Psychological Testing Worksheet

1. What are at least two ethical issues associated with psychological testing? What impact do these issues have on the field of psychological testing?

Along with the American Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Civil Rights Act, helps regulate any business conducted to discriminate against race, religions, sex, and disabilities (Hogan, 2007). When Psychologists are dealing with these types of cases pertaining to testing, they will need to adhere to not only these standards of treatment but also American Psychological Association Regulations (APA) and assure the client is not being mistreated or taken advantage of in any way during testing (Hogan, 2007). Also, the psychologist will need to be careful and make sure that any accommodations made for the client will not mess with the validity of the tests conducted. If so, the psychologist will need to integrate that into the results. If the Psychologist do not adhere to these laws and standards placed upon them they could face charges and can have their license to practice suspended or taken away (Hogan, 2007).
