3.1 Laws & Politics
Since the company provides Information technology services, CHASSasia (Singapore) must follow the Computer Misuse Act stated by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (iDA). There are a few things that the company needs to be aware of according to the iDA :
* Acts & Regulations
* Codes of Practice & Guidelines
* Regulatory Policies & Frameworks
* Information Economy Policies & Frameworks
* Licensing and etc.
“The infocomm industry revenue grew by 12.2 per cent to reach S$70.39 billion.” (Yong, 2010)

3.2 The Economy
Singapore is widely known as an information technology hub mainly due to the efficient telecommunications infrastructure that it possesses. “The ICT sector, as defined by ICT-Singapore, is estimated to have contributed $26 billion in value-added (or 20 per cent) to Singapore’s GDP in 1996.” (Singapore Department of Statistics, 1998)
As CHASSasia (Singapore) is mainly based in Singapore and provides almost all available services in the IT industry, the company will be significantly affected by the economic environment. The economy in Singapore is substantially dependent on the ICT sector and the company is in for very good opportunities as the technology advances rapidly in the 21st century.

3.3 Technology
The technology advances in today’s world has drastically changed the way we, humans live and work. Just recently NASA had successfully landed the Curiosity on MARS in the hope of finding life on another planet and it is sending back High quality photos and videos back to planet Earth which is about 225 million km away. Almost every working professional in 2012 uses a computer or a mobile device or a tablet PC which is connected to the Internet. “This year the number of Internet users worldwide reached 2.27 billion, almost exactly twice what it was in 5 years ago, 1.15 billion.” (Pingdom, 2012)
As an Information Technology company, CHASSAsia(Singapore) should be mainly aware of this rapid growth of technology and keeps up with the advances in order to be a top player in the ICT sector.

3.4 Demographics
Singapore is mostly known as “the little red dot” as it is a very small island and “has a total population of 5.18 million as at end June 2011. Of the 5.18 million populations, 3.79 million are Singapore citizens or permanent residents and the other 1.39 million are non-resident foreigners.” (Channelnewsasia, 2011) The Singapore population mostly consists of a majority of Chinese followed by Malays and the Indians. There are also a lot other nationals and races who migrate to Singapore for better job opportunities and the number of immigrants has been increasing year by year.
It is quite obvious that there is a huge diversity in the labor force in Singapore with different races, cultures, education and skill levels. As a company based in Singapore, CHASSAsia (Singapore) needs to be aware of...
