The text I’m dealing with is one of the short stories written by W.Somerset Maugham. It’s entitled “Princess September”.
First of all I’d like to tell you about the author of this story.
William Somerset Maugham (27 January 1874 – 16 December 1965) was an English playwright, novelist and short story writer. He was among the most popular writers of his era and, reputedly, the highest paid author during the 1930s.
