Organizations create teams to provide a framework that will assist in increasing their employee’s involvement in problem solving, decision making and planning to better meet the organization’s goals. In order for teams to successfully improve the effectiveness of the organization, they must be mission and goal focused. In order for leaders to have an effective team they must consider the various attitudes of their team members. Recognizing the various attitudes of team members allow leaders to predict behavior within the team. Some leaders use surveys to recognize various attitudes within their team, foresee potential conflicts and gain insight on how team members really feel.

Personalities

Personalities are an individual’s thoughts, feelings, and behavioral patterns. We all have a unique personality that sets us apart from other people. In order for leaders to effectively manage a team, it is helpful to understand the various personalities of their team members. In order for leaders to effectively manage their team, it is beneficial to understand the various personalities of the team members. Success of a business depends on how efficiency of the operation and the efficiency of the operations rely on the attitudes and personalities of its employees. An individual’s personality can affect the way they perceive the vision and goals of an organization. Leaders need to learn the personality of their members to effectively lead the team members.
Emotions

Emotions are feelings based on a person’s experiences and are usually briefly felt. Emotions are a key regulator of behavior they affect behavior directly, by motivating action, influence decisions, and creativity (Fessler, D and Haley, K, 2012).

Behavior is affected by emotions, when the emotions are presented in a negative way. Leaders have the responsibility to remain positive and relay positive messages to their team in order to remain productive.
Values
Values define the stability of an individual’s life goals; they reflect the things that are important. An individual values in life rarely changes, and are gathered from life experiences.
