Personal responsibility is a trait required for completing tasks and meeting goals.
Without personal responsibility a person can lose integrity.
The most important reason personal responsibility is a trait required to complete tasks and meet goals is if a person does not have personal responsibility to him or herself, tasks and, goals will not be met.
It is my belief personal responsibility is to be responsible for my actions, which includes reaping the consequences of my actions. I also have to understand how my actions ...view middle of the document...
My family would be affected because of the added stress of me not working and wondering how to make ends meets. There would also be added stress to me because of having to come up with a solution to the financial obligations as well as trying to find a job.
I believe the relationship between personal responsibility and college success is the same as the personal responsibility required on the job. An example of personal responsibility is obligating oneself to do the best in class by completing assignments accurately and on time. Also the personal responsibility to the team by attending meetings, communicating with each other, resolving conflicts, and understanding diversity among the team members. If I did not have personal responsibility to attend the classes and complete assignments on time and in the proper format, the consequences could range from low grades to academic probation or expulsion. The effect it would have on myself and people around me is that I would feel as if I was a failure and I would be a disappointment to my family for not having personal responsibility to myself or my family to complete school.
My plan to practice personal responsibility in my education is to set priorities and goals within my control and strive to reach them. I will also ask for assistance when I don’t understand. I will also communicate with my instructors and my team. I am going to balance my priorities and goals with the assistance of my family by examining the assignments I need to complete as compared to the requirements needed around the house.
In conclusion, although there are some who get along without having personal responsibility, personal responsibility is a trait required to complete tasks and meet goals for two main reasons. First, without personal responsibility a person can lose integrity. Most important, if a person does not have responsibility to him or herself tasks will not be met and goals will not be accomplished.
