What does personal responsibility means to me? Personal responsibility means being responsible for your actions regardless if they are wrong or right. This in turn means not blaming someone else for something you have done. In school, this means doing your own work, turning in assignments on time and working successfully with team members on team assignments. Organization is also very important in personal responsibility. It’s good to be organized. When you are organized, you can find the things that you need without having to look all over for them. Make checklists so that you can be able to check off the things that you have completed and know what you haven’t completed. Having a checklist can also show you when something is due so you don’t be late finishing it or turning it in. A couple of things that I find useful are a notebook, calendar, and alarms. You can always refer back to a notebook that you are using for a class. A calendar can be a continuous reminder on what you have to do on a day to day basis. Alarms come in handy by going off on the day that something is due and also can give you the time that is due.
In my opinion, personal responsibility is the ultimate key to becoming a successful person. As long as you have self-discipline, time management skills, and organization, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be able to understand personal responsibility.
