There are many technologies that have drastically change the world that we live in. One of those technologies is Nanotechnology. Nanotechnology refers to materials, applications and processes designed to work on extremely tiny scales. Nanotechnology is being used every day in healthcare products, technology, cosmetics, sports equipment, food and agriculture, and usually people are none the wiser that they are using products with nanotechnology in it. This paper will discuss three different impacts that nanotechnology has had in our lives today and then how it might change how we live in the future.

Another field where the use of nanotechnology has a huge impact today is agriculture. One aspect where nanotechnology has improved agriculture is through the development of nanosensors that detect pathogens and contaminants that could endanger the public. Another use for these nanosensors is to monitor soil conditions and crop growth. Nanotechnology is also used in "smart" packaging. This packaging not only optimizes the products shelf-life these packing systems would be able to tell the consumer if a product has gotten spoiled just by changing colors.
Computers have also tremendously improved from a couple of years ago when each computer had only one processor, they now have several for better performance. This achievement is also through the use of nanotechnology. Computers can now run faster while cooler thanks to nanomaterials, "tiny molecule-sized machines that process information similarly to the intricate and complex cells in a living organism." Computer memory has also benefited from nanotechnology, the physical size of the hard drive has decreased over the years and the amount of information that can be stored on the drive has increased. Even the cell phones that we use today are the products of nanotechnology. Through nanotechnology applications, electronic appliances such as the modern cell phone can offer more efficient performance with a minimal drain on their power source, increasing the battery life.
