The first article that I read was called “Creating a positive first impression”. This is important because people can create an image of you based on their first impression. Many things can play into this such as gesture, the way someone is sitting, talking, and looking at someone. This article kind of reminds me of a job interview. You want the first impression to be memorable so that you leave a good impression the first time you meet someone. Making sure what you are wearing is presentable plays a key role in this as well. I actually thought this article was interesting because it shares the different styles of position that people can hold their phones. This article talks about five different personality types of body language of different callers. The five different personalities that are used as an example are someone who is talkative, in a leadership position, someone that can multitask, the wallflower, and the smooth operator. Each personality plays a different role involving body language. Sometimes when I think about it, I can actually see this writers point of view. I would have to say that my favorite personality in this article would be the person that is able to multitask. I elaborate on this because I find it important to be able to complete multiple tasks in a timely manner. This doesn’t mean that I am not paying attention to the caller; I can just simply do other things while I am on the phone with someone. Most phones have a speaker feature which makes it very convenient for me and others. I am sure that everyone can relate to this article and say that they either know someone or have worked with someone with these personalities. I know that sometimes the personality of the smooth talker reminds me of my sister when she is on the phone with her friends. I always asked them what is so important that they have to be on the phone for hours when they really have nothing to talk about in the first place.
