The task at hand is managing the operations of a restaurant. These challenges include but are not limited to things such as keeping the best pricing to keep up with the competition, finding ways to keep the customers happy and coming back, keeping the employees and staff happy. All of these things play a huge part in keeping an establishment a float, and can also be the reason that an establishment goes under.
There can also be a problem with finding the right staff to employee for the establishment. This staff must be reliable and dependable, and people that you will keep around as long as possible. These staff members consist of cooks and servers and other assortments of employees. Finding someone who will have longevity with your establishment can become a very big challenge, according to (Sharda, 2012) “the major issue is to retain skilled cooks and servers, while for others hiring a capable and dedicated staff is the most testing part” (p. 1). Just like with task there comes challenges, with challenges there comes solutions. Some of these solutions that I think could be helpful in these situations can be, hiring very reliable people that have long stents of work history with previous jobs. This will make it so that the establishment can sale these items at low cost and still make a profit, allowing them to keep up with the competition. All of these suggestions will in-turn keep the customers coming back, because low prices for a great quality of food and service and it always the same people that are providing that food and service.

With that being said, while it is still a huge task with keeping up with everything such as prices, orders, reservations and guest capacity we now have computerized systems that make it a lot easier. These computerized systems now help to keep track of all of these things with just a push of a button. The systems have had a huge impact on how the Hospitality and Tourism industry have grown thus far, and continues grow.
With the world going in the direction of technology it was only right that the Hospitality and Tourism industry follow. This allows the employees to keep track of all numbers as far as accounting and prices and purchases. Overall it makes it easier for all transactions. Technology is a great source for everyone, when I say everyone I mean the hotel or...
