1 Compare and contrast different organizational structure and cultures:
Organizational structure describes hierarchy, working constitution, resource allocation as well as how the roles, responsibilities are assigned within the organization. Sometimes organizations are recognized by its structure. Mostly business environment affect the structure of an organization.
The culture of an organization develops by its past activities and work nature of that organization. So organization culture is a process divided amongst the member of the organization that distinguish the organization from another.
Comparing organizational structure:
An organization install its structure depending on various factors such as economic scale, business environment, technology and so on.
Functional Organizational Structure:
This structure focuses on task assignments and divides the whole work into different divisions such as marketing, finance, research, development. The work structure to decode and all parts of the business get developed centering the managers or divisional heads.
Product Organization Structure:
Large organizations adopt this structure to increase responsiveness to technological changes and market changes. In this structure most people are selected and divided as their work expertise and experiences.
Flat & Wide Organizational Structure:
This Structure is mostly appropriate on small organization having average 20 employees. There may be on or few level of management.
In this structure small regions are made to ensure effective control over logistics, decision making. Multi-national organizations, mainly to overcome communication challenges geographical organizational structure is used.
It creates several lines for reporting and maintaining organizational activities where people with similar skills are assembled for work assignments.
Comparison of Organizational Culture:
Organization culture defines the ways for achieving organizational goal and every organization has its distinguished organizational culture-
Mostly observed in small organizations where organizational power has been centralized and no consultancy activities occur for decision making. Without any decisional counsel staffs may feel de motivated and undervalued.
This type culture followed mostly by nonprofit or charitable organizations where welfare or social improvement is the aim. This culture aims at improving society’s condition or the condition of the members of the organization.
Team work is the main theme of this culture. Particularly observed in business organizations where work based team is formed to complete task within particular timeframe. In this culture staffs feel motivated because every member has some power to make decisions.
