1. Introduction
Online shopping is a kind of business where consumers can directly shop over the Internet. It has now evolved to become a valuable part of daily lives. According to the Times Magazine, many people now preferring shopping online has increased year by year (In Shopperscrib 2011). Online shopping has become popular because people have many other things to do in their busy life, and shopping online saves time in numerous ways. Statistics produced by Forrester Research Inc. (n.d.) suggest that 60% of consumers shop online at least quarterly. EBay and Amazon are the two most popular and trusted websites for shopping online. As an additional bonus if consumers are a regular shopper at an online store many stores can reward them with coupon codes. Besides the coupon codes, consumers also can always enjoy great discounts during festive seasons and special occasions. Consumers can also simply look for products with free or reduced shipping cost by using search tools.
Because of increasing competition, consumers have the opportunity to make comparisons from various sites and can buy anything beautiful for the best price. This ensures that consumers get value for their money. Because there are so many businesses and companies online which offer a great variety of goods and services, there are likely to be vast number of particular items or services consumers are looking for.

3. Convenient
According to Patricia Le Ruez, WITH reference to Mr Warr’s call for the introduction of GST on all online purchases (JEP 1February), while sympathy is felt for the retailers who are finding it difficult to compete, as may online shoppers have already said, it is not necessarily a case of looking to buy cheaper. It is also about choice and convenience (Patricia 2013).
Convenience is one of the most obvious benefits of online shopping. According to Westbrook’s (2011) research, 48% of people shop online is to save. Online shopping let the consumers to shop for products or services at a time which is convenient for the consumer. Online retailers accept orders 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There are no shopping hours and consumers also don’t have to pay cash. In addition, whatever consumers order online usually gets delivered to their doorstep for a small additional fee. Everything is done without having to step away from the mobile phone or computer. However, for the consumers who wish to shop at traditional stores have to be available to visit the store during normal business hours. This can be a major inconvenience especially for consumers who work long hours or consumers who work odd hours.
Plus, when consumers shop online, they can do this from the comfort of their own home. They can also shop at any time of the day or night when they have the most time to do it. By shopping on the Internet consumers will save time because there will be no driving to a store, dealing with noisy crowds during Festivals and Special events or not being able to find what they are shopping for.
Housley (2012) of Translation Directory asserts, “If you already know what you’re looking for, shopping online can save you a significant amount of time”. This is because there are also easy to use search tools to search things that consumers want. Search engines such as Google or Bing are there to assist the consumer in a much more beneficial way than running around every store and asking associates where to find whatever they do not carry.
