Internet has many uses, it is a network of hundreds and thousands of computer connected all over the world. It helps easy access of information and datas we needed. So if a computer is connected to the Internet, in principle, it can be connected to any other computer on the network.. Internet can supplement knowledge beyond traditional instructional method. One example is that instructors give certain assignments to students that they need to use web sites to acquire more information (Gray, 1999).
All students do not learn of the same rate . Unfortunately, traditional classroom instruction cannot easily take this fact into account, but the computer can. With the computer student can pace themselves. They can linger over material that they need more time to absorb or they can speed through material that they readily understand. In fact, with the computer it is possible to branch a student to remedial material on the basis of the students response. Also with the ...view middle of the document...
Certain educators like, Johann Pestalozzi to John Dewey, claimed that students learn by using a combination of thinking and doing, then the computer is a most efficient tool for helping students to sharpen their intellectual skills
The student is not the only one who learns through computer dialogue. In writing a computer dialogue, the instructor may learn even more than the student who uses it. In the process of building a dialogue, the instructor must visualize the lessons from the students' viewpoint and must think of program responses to all possible wrong answers that might be given by the student as well as responses to right the answers. In fact, in writing a good dialogue the instructor will probably spend more time programming responses for wrong answers than for right ones. This can be a learning experience even for the instructor who is quite advanced in her or his subject area. Also, the practice of soliciting student critique on the instructor's programs can be an occasion for added learning for both the student and the instructor.
Finally, the internet can provide simulations of situations. The student can then experiment with these situations. This is particularly valuable because of the expense, difficult, or danger of creating these situations in real life. Examples would include learning to fly an airplane, surgery on a patient. In these and other cases, mistakes can be made in a simulated situation rather than in real life. (Barger 2008)
Benefits that students can attain from internet are numerous. One of it is to understand lesson deeper, sometimes they got confused on some difficult lesson they have at school. For better understanding, they tend to explore internet for informations that will fill the gaps that they had and finally understand topics and lessons that had been discussed to them. It can also reduce tiredness. For Nursing students, being tired in the end of the day is in the nature of their work. Studying every day is tiring and boring in our life. By playing online games can reduce those tiredness and stress that we had for our daily activities. (Nate, 2012)
Learning, we believe can be facilitated to the design and implementation of constructive tools and learning environments that foster personal meaning among communities of learners. (Jonassen)
