Through the rapid changes in regards to the environment and technology, UPS uses well-planned customer solutions to deal with the constant changes focusing on “Optimization and Logistics, operational efficiency is the result of a well-laid plan; Technology, offering customized shipment-visibility systems designed to meet the demands of business models; and Sustainability, finding innovative ways to decrease our and our customer's carbon footprint” are three categories that drives UPS’s ingenuity. (United Parcel Service of America, 2012) UPS is also known for its tracking systems which allow its shippers and recipients the ability to track their package and documents up until delivery. This feature has been enhanced by allowing customers to create accounts with UPS to control the delivery process of their inbound package and or documents. This feature allows a customer to electronically give the driver permission to leave the package and or document at the door without obtaining a signature. In the past, a signature was required to leave the package and multiple attempts were made until package was delivered and or sent back to the sender.
