New Employee Training
o Needs assessment: What types of issues might indicate a need for training?
For starters, a clear issue would be if you were to hire an individual that possessed the leadership skills your company is looking for but this person was not that familiar with your industry. Sometimes companies will hire from outside the company to get a fresh pair of eyes for their operation. · A supervisor requests training on the specialized technology required by five of his employees.
I would set up a program to train these individuals in a classroom environment or have them sent to a place where this training is available.
· The customer service manager reports a sudden increase in calls about poor handling of repeat complaint calls.
I would work with this customer service manager and show them how to handle the complaints and then have them work with his or her crew on handling these complaints in a proper manner.
·The CEO requests team efficiency training to address the declining numbers of employees attending quarterly pep rallies.
I would hold a meeting with all employees and have a dialogue as to why they are not attending and then ask what they would like to see at these pep rallies then in turn add those requests with incentives for being there.
