A topic I’ve always had interest in is nature vs. nurture. It is basically determining whether
certain traits about us are innate or are learned. It remains a mystery to this day. In my opinion,
everyone is born with a blank slate. No one’s personality is predetermined. I don’t believe any baby can
be born evil, just like dogs can’t be born evil. This has been proven inaccurate after several cases of
people being evil although they were raised in a good family. Every person has their own opinion on this
topic and is yet to be discovered fully.
I was born in Louisville, Kentucky,
but raised in a Hispanic household. I was conceived in Colombia but my dad moved to America after ...view middle of the document...
My personality has been molded over different experiences and lessons learned in my life. I
am a better and stronger version of myself every year. I have always been a genuine, nice person. I was
raised by the most honest and real people around. My mom is down to earth and we have this crazy
passion for animals. Over the years I have stopped consuming any animal products which have led me to
becoming vegetarian. My environment has had a huge impact on my decision. I grew up with one dog
that I love and I believe with all my heart that we are not superior to any four-legged animals. It hurts
my heart to see the way we kill animals for our food, and I can’t bear to eat all fear and stress these
animals die with within their system. Most people around me could care less about animals and how
they are killed, and that could be cause of how they were raised. Parents are every child’s example.
Their outlook on life will carry down to their child. Almost every single person I know carries their
parents’ traits in some way or another.
Something you learn in your environment is your dressing style. It is impossible to be born with
this because it is taught. Parents teach their child how to dress as a toddler. Each person’s style of
dressing depends greatly on the group of friends that a person surrounds themselves with. I have two
sides to me, as well as two separate cliques. I am athletic as well as very girly. I believe the people you
hang around influence you strongly in every aspect of your life. I wouldn’t be as girly if it wasn’t for the
friends I grew up with. My best friends are very preppy and my soccer friends are the complete
opposite. I get the best of both worlds by hanging out with my different groups.
Genuine, unorganized, selfless, distracted, honest, patient, funny and supportive is
how I would describe myself. I put others before myself. I leave a positive imprint in people’s lives. My
generosity is contagious. I am selfless even with people I know that are selfish and they begin to be the
same with me. I am also unorganized and very easily distracted. People would describe me differently
depending on who you ask of course. Most people would describe me just as described myself. My
boyfriend will probably add on that I’m annoying. My enemies don’t know me well enough because I
stay away from any type of drama. My teachers most likely see me as a sweet, smart, and maybe
forgetful. I frustrate my mom because I leave my belongings around the house and lose things
frequently. I’m very forgetful, which is a big problem for me. I have a good long term memory but I
won’t remember a conversation I had 30 minutes ago. I recognize most of my flaws, and as they say
“The first step to solving a problem is knowing there is one.”
I am currently employed in a dog boutique. I was specifically looking for a job where I
can do what I love. There’s nothing I love more...
