The main goal of education is to prepare individuals to be contributing citizens of our society and to help them reach their true potential. Education provides the foundation that enables students to be successful lifelong learners that thrive in society. While schools are the catalyst for the dissemination of education, it is a successful partnership between schools, government family and community that ensures the ultimate success of education. Government needs to provide standards for education and adequate funding to offer programs and instruction for all. Families serve as important support systems that support teachers and students in the quest for each student to reach his or her full potential. The support of society, community and business members is crucial for the success of education. Community members and organizations can provide financial support and mentoring services. Community support strengthens the school community and enables schools to provide additional academic and enrichment opportunities. Churches serve as important contributors to the spiritual growth of students and may serve as support systems within the school community.
Students are the focus of our educational system. They are the future citizens and leaders of our nation, and it is therefore imperative that education prepares them to be creative problem solvers that find solutions to the challenges of the future. Each child has the potential to make unique contributions to the world. To reach his or her full potential a student needs a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that enables an exploration of individual talents and interests. Students need to be motivated to inquire about and explore the world.

Vygotsky viewed interaction as an integral part of learning; students expand their existing understanding through interactive learning experiences. Learning experiences may need to be tailored to the individual needs of the student. Through successful scaffolding, students can slowly progress to independent problem solving (Shaffer, 2008). It is my goal to guide all students to successful experiences that empower them to grow, reach new learning goals and develop a life-long love for learning.
I firmly believe that students are active participants in their education. They need to explore, analyze and synthesize information and integrate it into their existing schemata. Technology tools provide many opportunities for students to become active problem solvers and content creators. Mason and Rennie state that the millennial learners of the 21st century prefer interactive learning environments that include technology tools and group interaction. Technology tools are a great asset for any classroom because they increase student engagement and motivation (2008).
I see the role of a teacher as a facilitator, who provides a stimulating and engaging learning environment that fosters the success of all students, implements the district mandated curriculum and aligns it with state content standards. Teachers serve as caring and encouraging guides, who support, motivate and advise students.
The primary responsibility of a teacher is to create and maintain a safe, caring and nurturing learning environment that enables all students to feel secure and successful. Teachers need to create meaningful lessons that integrate...
