One of the biggest issues of working in teams or groups is the clashing of personalities of its members. When there is a team of people with all different types of personalities that do not necessarily mix it can cause problems with communication, cooperation, and participation. According to the Encarta World Dictionary, personality is defined as the totality of somebody's attitudes, interests, behavioral patterns, emotional responses, social roles, and other individual traits that endure over long periods of time. A Sensor is a type of person who likes details. They dislike generalization with answers or explanations. They are very focused and concentrated on one task and hate thinking about what comes next. Sensors do not like using their imaginations and prefer doing things that have tangible results. Sensors also take things literal and do not believe anything without proof. Intuitive persons are those who like to think about the future and fantasize. They tend to think about multiple things at once and do not care for details. They give general answers and are curious. They do things just to figure out the mechanics of it. Having people who are Sensors work with those who are intuitive can cause problems with communication. Since Sensors like details and concentrating on one thing at a time, they can become frustrated with the intuitive person for being too general and unfocused, and vice versa.

Thinkers are those who can remain calm when things are going bad. They are very fair but like to argue to prove a point. They rather speak the truth than making others happy. Thinkers like to make difficult decisions and are logical. Thinkers can come off cold and standoffish. Feelers are those who like to consider people’s feelings in order to make a decision. They also like to go above and beyond to help someone. Feelers like to be the peacemakers and do not care about being right or proving a point. Feelers are sensitive. Thinkers can seem to be too uncaring for Feelers, which make it hard for them to want to participate. When in groups, if the Thinker puts forth an idea, than it usually has to be the right idea. The Feeler would just go along with the Thinker’s idea even if it is not right to them just for the sake of keeping peace.

People who are Judgers are very organized and picky about order. They always seem to be waiting on others. They have everything planned and get frustrated if things do not go accordingly. Judgers have many lists and planners to stay organized and feel accomplished when lists are complete. They like to finish things completely even if they need to go back and fix it later. Judgers also can be accused of being angry when not. A Perceiver is one who gets easily distracted. They are unorganized and do not plan. Perceivers like to be spontaneous and creative in all tasks. Perceivers do not like commitment because they like having options. Judgers and Perceivers working together can be tough because Judgers like to be organized and work until task is complete while the Perceiver is easily distracted and plays too much. The More Loving One Essay

668 words - 3 pages Personal appreciation of The more loving oneI've been a little obsessed with Auden lately (even if I haven't been writing blog posts about poetry, I've still been reading!)This piece is one of my favourites.
