SWOT Analysis
SWOT analysis is a basic, direct model that determines what a company is able or not able to do as well as the company’s potential Opportunities and its Threats. SWOT is a kind of measurement that describes what Strengths a company has, also its Weaknesses, as well as its Opportunities and its Threats. SWOT analysis also uses a method that does its analysis by taking information from an environmental analysis then separate it into two parts: Internal for (Strengths and Weaknesses) and External for (Opportunities and Threats).
Strengths of Microsoft
Microsoft has being in business since 1975. Microsoft is the largest software company that has global name recognition as well as a strong reputation for innovative products in the world and a consumer acceptance (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access). Microsoft has rapid product development processes that grant for the opportunity of updating and the release of new products and has a financial performance that is consistent.
Weaknesses of Microsoft
Microsoft has a bad reputation as being a cut-throat competitor because it uses its dominant market position to sideline competition through destroying/stealing the competition’s products, decreasing the readiness of competitor products and stifling product innovation. Microsoft depends on hardware manufacturers to pre-install its PC operating system, its software most of the time has bugs causing one to spend money to buy virus protections and its customer service is not great and does not much or any substantial presence in the wireless market.
Opportunities of Microsoft
Microsoft is well known all over the world therefore any new products that it would come out with would be a big success because of all the customers who trust its products. Microsoft has the opportunity to open its own hardware market and Consumer technology.
