Management Planning At Boeing

The Boeing Corporation is the world largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial jetliners and defense, space and security systems. Boeing is organize into two business units; Boeing Commercial Airlines and Boeing Defense, Space & Security. They are supported by Boeing Capital Corporation, a global provider of financial solutions, the Shared Service Group, which provides a broad range of services to Boeing Worldwide, and Boeing Engineering, Operations & Technology, which helps develop, acquire, apply and protect innovative technologies and processes. This is where the company assesses the original financial goals and evaluates how customer satisfaction and growth in productivity are impacting on the goals of the company. The fourth step in the process is delivering results, how have the stock price of Boeing and the performance of the plan affect the company. The final step in management planning is what is the best way to execute the plan and how it effect all stakeholders, shareholders, customers, employees and the communities that are directly impacted by the economic security of a company the size of Boeing will have on the region.

There are constant legal issues, ethics and corporate social responsibilities that face all businesses today. As a global leader you’re bound to face any or all the issues from time to time. Boeing was faced with a complex legal matter, when it was sued by its employees in 2000, in regards to gender pay differences. The planning side of management stepped in to make sure that a legal team oversaw all important documents. The matter was settled out of court, saving Boeing from public scrutiny and millions of dollars. Legal problems can be expensive for a company. Corporate social responsibilities are parts of planning for large and small organizations. Organizations can strengthen or depreciate mankind and the environment. Boeing being a huge corporation has an enormous effect on the environment and humankind. Companies must understand the value of resources and that the environment, earth and mankind are its most important resources. Boeing strives to operate without any negative effects on the environment through philanthropy efforts. Through Humanitarian Delivery Flights, Boeings tries to improve quality of life around the world. In addition to meet their customer needs, there acts of humanitarianism are initially construed to deliver aide to those regions. Empty plane cargo spaces are filled with items of need, for delivery to the region were the plane is to be delivered. Boeing has also partnered with Botanic Gardens Conservation International to help improve the environment. The goal is to help secure plant diversity for the benefit of the planet and its people across the globe.
Ethics are an important part of any business. Having good business ethics builds trust in your customers and any business partners. Proving its commitment to ethics, the company dedicates company funds to employee training hours, it also issue a 45 page ethic manual for each new employee to read. Boeing has developed a code of conduct policy, which each employee must adhere to. This policy is there to protect the corporation and its employees.
