The problems and opportunities facing organizations today are complex and changing rapidly. From the difficulties associated with globalization to the benefits of employee-centred initiatives to make workplaces more productive, all of society’s institutions feel the pressure of a new and very challenging environment. Regarding to the description given above, the most suitable management approaches that could be viewed from the mechanistic organizational perspective is the scientific management and bureaucratic from the Classical approach because scientific approach can deal with the Mechanistic organization’s performance and productivity efficiency, and bureaucratic approach can deal with Mechanistic organization’s tight authority, rules and procedures. Some examples for a mechanistic organization include franchises such as KFC and McDonald’s. These franchises operate alike according to rules established by the corporate management. Service personnel work in orderly and disciplined ways, guided by training, rules and procedures. Appearances in the workplace are also carefully regulated, with every worker working in a standard uniform. The classical approach is viewed from this organizational perspective because one of mechanistic organization’s goals is to improve the motion with better productivity efficiency and reduced waste motions.

For the Organic organizational perspectives of view, this perspective comparing to the Mechanistic perspective is totally opposite and mostly different. The organic organizational perspective focuses on decentralized rather than centralized like Mechanistic. The organic perspectives includes multi-directional communication, fewer rules and procedures, less precise division of labour, wider spans of control, more personal means of coordination, and involve more employee participation in problem solving and decision making. Organic organizations emphasis on effectiveness, problem solving, responsiveness, flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and innovation. With these factors, such organizations are able to respond in a timely manner to environmental change because employees are empowered to be creative, to experiment, and suggest new ideas. The need for flexibility and responsiveness leads to the decentralization of decision making authority in organic organization. Organic organization emphasis is placed more on individual and group control than on managerial, hierarchical control. Top-level managers in organic organizations are more concerned with coordination and integration as opposed to passing directives down a vertical hierarchy, which is a common task of top-level managers in mechanistic organizations (Reference for Business 2010). A key issue in organic organizations is determining who has the knowledge, perspective, experience, expertise, or skills required to identify opportunities or find solutions to problems. Rather than assuming that top management is the fountainhead of all knowledge and wisdom, organic organizations assume that various people in the organization may have crucial insights or capabilities.
