The strength of the system is by association and interaction with other sub system.
Each system has a boundary that separates from environment, for example employees are within the bourdary and creditors; customer are external to a firm.
The output is known as feedback come from the response of the environment, feedback use for improving the functioning of the system.Classification of system
1) Open system- receive input from their environment, convert and discharge output to environment
2) Closed system-is self contained and isolated from the environment, tend to be predictable (insulated from fluctuations in demand and supply through stockpiling) required for stability and consistency, designed for efficiency.
Advantages of this theory
Meaningful analysis of organizations and their management
It facilitates the interaction between organizations
Guides manager to avoid analyzing problem in isolation and to develop an integrated approach
The approach does not recognize the differences in system
System philosophy does not specify the nature of interactions and inter dependencies
Unpractical : it cannot be easily and directly applied to practical problem.
