The game is played by four people who sit on each side of a square table. Each player takes 34 pieces of tiles and arranged them in 17 stacks of two, which are to be pushed forward to form a square like a city wall.

The disadvantage of doing this is that the player must now expose the completed meld to the other players on table, giving them a clue of what type of hand he or she may create.

on table in hand You can form a åŽ(kÇŽn) with any tile (except flowers and seasons) by pong - the action that taking discarded tile or drawing from your wall. When you steal discarded one, utter â€œç¢° (pÃ¨ng)â€ at the same time and display the three identical tiles on the table. In this case, you need another 5 circle tile to form a åŽ (kÇŽn). So when one of players discards this tile, you can pong it!
This hand formed with four sets of same-tile-combination åŽ(kÇŽn) and one pair of East wind. Only bamboo is used (no other suit simples) this is clean hand. Whatâ€™s more no é †å(shÃ¹n zi) are used in this case, so that extra points can be scored.

You can display what you pong on table, facing upward. If so you canâ€™t change this meld unless for updating into kong by drawing the tile from your wall. Or you can keep them in hand as a hidden pong so that they are flexible to be reassembled or form into a kong by stealing others discarded tile.
